On Friday, May 3rd, 2024, delegations from the IIPC New York, accompanied representatives from the Deputy for Capital Investment Cooperation and the Deputy for Strategic Downstream Investment of Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment, for a meeting with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Houston ( @indonesiainhouston )
The purpose of this courtesy call was to explore investment opportunities with potential investors from the United States, specifically within KJRI Houston’s purview, which includes the energy and minerals sector and their derivatives. KJRI Houston sought to foster collaboration and attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in these areas.
In addition to investment opportunities, the meeting also discussed the topic of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), primarily the opportunities and future policies for CSS investments in Indonesia. The global CCS industry has been rapidly evolving, driven by the need to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
The Indonesian government has been actively promoting policies and incentives to encourage CCS investments within its borders.

Pada hari Jumat tanggal 3 Mei 2024, delegasi IIPC New York mendampingi perwakilan Deputi Bidang Kerja Sama Penanaman Modal dan Deputi Bidang Hilirisasi Investasi Strategis dari Kementerian Investasi RI untuk pertemuan dengan KJRI di Houston.
Tujuan dari courtesy call ini adalah untuk menjajaki peluang investasi dengan calon investor asal Amerika Serikat, khususnya di lingkup KJRI Houston yang mencakup sektor energi dan mineral serta produk turunannya. KJRI Houston berupaya membina kolaborasi dan menarik investasi asing langsung (FDI) di bidang-bidang tersebut.
Selain peluang investasi, pertemuan tersebut juga membahas topik Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), terutama peluang dan kebijakan masa depan investasi CSS di Indonesia. Industri CCS global telah berkembang pesat, didorong oleh kebutuhan untuk memitigasi emisi gas rumah kaca dan memerangi perubahan iklim.
Pemerintah Indonesia telah secara aktif mempromosikan kebijakan dan insentif untuk mendorong investasi CCS di dalam negeri.
