Exciting news on the investment front! In Q2 2023, we witnessed a remarkable 15.7% increase in investment realization compared to the same period last year, culminating in an impressive total investment of IDR 349.8 trillion (US$ 23.1 B).
The impact has been significant, as this surge in investments also created 464,289 new job opportunities for Indonesian workers. The Ministry of Investment/BKPM is thrilled about this positive economic growth, with Q2 2023's investment realization reaching around 48.5% of our annual target of IDR 1,400 trillion (US$ 94.6 B).
We are particularly delighted to share that the USA has secured its place in the Top 5 countries based on investment amount, contributing USD 1.8 B throughout Q1 and Q2 2023.
The metal and equipment industries have played a crucial role in attracting foreign direct investments (FDIs), accounting for an impressive US$ 5.4 B in investments during January to June 2023.
